Meet Our Doctors & Staff
Meadow Hetland, Registered Dental Hygienist
I grew up in a small town in the Midwest. While pursuing a degree in media productions, I worked as a camera person filming commercials and the news for a local ABC affiliate. After getting married, I moved to the Northeast with my husband. After enduring three years of cold Atlantic winters, my husband and I decided to thaw out in South Florida. It was there that I had the privilege of beginning my work as a dental assistant.
I became fascinated with teeth and enjoyed helping people achieve a higher level of dental health. In 2005, we moved to the Fort Myers area. It was here that I attended the Edison State College Dental Hygiene program and graduated in 2012.
My passion for dental hygiene must have shone through because I received the STAR Award in my class for displaying enthusiasm, dedication, and compassion for Dental Hygiene. In 2014, I became certified to administer local anesthesia.
People care about who their health care providers are and how they are treated. I am proud to be part of the Horizon One team where patients are treated like family!

Deanna Day, Registered Dental Hygienist
My passion has always been teeth, and I always knew that I wanted to have a career that involved helping others. Teeth make me smile and I want others to smile, too. I started my dental career working as a dental assistant. I then attended the Hygiene School at Edison State College and graduated with honors in 2014. I was presented with the professionalism award in my class for exhibiting ethical and professional behavior, leadership, and a commitment to the practice of dental hygiene and its code of ethics.
As a dental hygiene professional, I like to start each appointment by establishing a rapport with my patients in order to provide them with the best treatment. Each patient will be treated like family and will experience a gentle cleaning. I advocate good oral hygiene by combining my skills as an educator and clinician to increase the patient’s knowledge of oral health with visuals and demonstrations. I am certified to give local anesthesia and enjoy providing the best quality service.
As a native to Southwest Florida, I am constantly outdoors and staying active. In my spare time, I enjoy biking, swimming, and visiting the beautiful beaches Florida has to offer. Family is important to me, so I make it a priority to spend time with my big family and my adorable cat, Chanel. I love traveling the U.S. from the depths of the Grand Canyon to the Big Apple, New York City.
It is my privilege and duty as a hygienist to inform and recommend the best treatment available. At Horizon One Dental, I have the wonderful opportunity to share my love for dentistry by providing patients with the best dental care and knowledge to help them achieve and maintain excellent oral hygiene.
Daisy Casas, Registered Dental Hygienist
I grew up in Southwest Florida and decided to stay close to home for college. I proceeded to graduate with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from Edison State College. While in school, I served as the president for my graduating class and received the President’s Award and the S.T.A.R. Award in Dental Hygiene
I was interested in the dental field because of the opportunity to help others live long, healthy lives with beautiful smiles. I am passionate about promoting oral health and treating my patients with respect and consideration. I enjoy getting to know my patients and helping them in an encouraging and reassuring manner while providing quality, thorough dental care. I hold credentials in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide, and I am fluent in English and Spanish.
In my free time, I enjoy running, going to the beach, watching movies, painting, and spending quality time with a good book.
It is such a rewarding experience to be a part of such a wonderful team of dental professionals and to be able to call Horizon One Dental my dental family!

Now that they are teenagers, I feel ready to get back into the workforce and put my skills to work.
I have always had a love for dentistry and a fascination with cosmetic dentistry. Helping patients achieve a healthy, bright smile and optimal oral health in the gentlest way with a warm, friendly attitude has always been my goal.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, having cookouts, attending baseball games, and love the challenge of taking on a big home project.

I couldn’t ask for a better place to work!
